I was only dreaming

In this dream someone is looking down at the street.

A crowd of people walk out of the main entrance and a piano melody is heard...

On the pavement below, a face is looking up. But it’s not a realistic face - it looks more like a child’s drawing and it’s animated. The face turns into a matchstick man, then into a house.

Across the roof of the building a man is singing.

In the street and there is a new picture. It’s a boat this time. Then it turns into a car. Its wheels are going round. The car turns into a bird which turns into some sort of animal.

The piano player is sitting at his piano on the roof of the building.

Do you believe that dreams have meanings? What do you think this one means?

Do you think there's a connection between the text and the dream? To see the lyrics, access the page at the top of this blog.

Education in England

You spent three months studying in the UK.

Make an oral presentation about your experience. Get into groups and divide your task into:
  • why you studied abroad
  • where you went and what you did
  • how it was the same or different from education in your country

Task 1: Why

These are good reasons for studying abroad, do you agree with any of them? Can you think of any others?

Task 2:  Where?

This is the school you chose. What did you think of it? What expectations did you have?

Task 3: Give advice

In what ways is the British educational system the same or different from yours? Have a look at some basic information and compare.
